Here are some beautiful stories highlighting the impact of our work in rural Nebbi District,

  My name is Foska and I am 16 years old now. I am one of the pioneer children that Edu Child Foundation Uganda started sponsoring in 2014. I enjoy playing netball with for fun. In 2019, I joined high school and it was so unbelievable. Most of my sisters were married off by the age of 16. I am the first child in my family to have gotten an opportunity to join secondary school (high school). For a village girl like me, my dream to help build our community, most especially, help give chance to as many girls as possible to acquire formal education seemed unattainable because of the the extreme poverty around me. I am very thankful to Edu Child Foundation Uganda for restoring my hope for a better future by putting me back in a good school that I may reach my dream of becoming a social worker.

  I am Herbert and 16 years old. I am the firstborn in a family of 5 . When I am not playing soccer, you will find me reading books.. My story, like all others, is unfortunate because my father kicked us out of the only home we knew with our mother many years ago when he decided to marry another wife. That forced my mother to take on all the responsibilities of raising my siblings and me as a single mother. Edu Child Foundation Uganda was an answer to my mother's prayers and to my dreams for a better chance at life. When I am not in school, I am with my mother, helping her with farming and other domestic chores. I am studying hard to become a lawyer one day and build my mother a house. I am very thankful for this opportunity and I trust that by God’s grace, I will achieve my dreams.

  I am Peditor Ayiyorwoth and I just turned 17 this years, in July. I enjoy reading different novels – seeing the world through other people's eyes. My mother died almost 5 years ago and I must say, it has been quite tough to live life without her. She was my greatest pillar of support and guidance. I am the first born in a family of 12 children. If it was not for Edu Child Foundation Uganda, I cannot tell where I would be because at home it was a struggle to get what to eat, wear, leave or be in school. Being the first born in our family has always put a lot of pressure on me to work harder and achieve something great so that I can support my younger siblings and those who are struggling in my village. My dream is to become a Medical Doctor so that I can be able to save many, suffering in pain.
